Climax is a Hex in Dark Souls 2. To cast a Hex, you must use a staff/chime or Special Weapons that can cast Hex.
"A hex that distorts the power of life.
Emits a mass of dark, but at the cost of all souls.
Strength varies depending on the number of souls. Not a hex to be used lightly."
Catalyst: "sacred chime"
Acquired From
- Obtained from Pilgrims of the Dark covenant Rank 3
Notes
- Consumes ALL held souls upon casting of the spell. Maximum damage at 5000 souls cost. An upgrade to Great Resonant Soul, its damage is increased by roughly 180%. This spell deals the highest damage in game.
Strategy: Use Bonfire Ascetic to farm Soul of a Brave Warrior or Giant Lord Soul at different locations in game, effectively getting a supply of 5000 souls for casting the spell at any time. - Deals more poise damage than Great Resonant Soul, ignores Dark Transgressor's Leather Shield even when it's fully upgraded, can be identified by its distinctive sound upon flying by.

Jokes aside, the name "Climax" fits. Dark is associated to humanity and their emotions, and lust is a very human emotion. It's also considered a sin.

With the icons of these spells, you cant tell me they didnt know what they were doing naming this thing

>spell needs souls to use
>in the only title with soul memory
genius!
joking aside, i’m guessing this spell saw very little pvp use.

Why would you need a soul as powerful as the giant lord's to use this? just ascetic the dragon rider at heide's and use his soul so you can cast climax for very little SM gain. just dont forget to put on agape ring so you go up as little as possible.

4 slots would take away from the 6 spots I have for dark orb.
the 3 resonant soul spells are basically DS2's version of "throw money at problems to deal with them"

This Hex is part of the reason why my characters always have a +10 Dark Rebel's Greatshield on standby

You know, the only real defense against this spell outside of dodging it is to be of the Dark yourself. Had a one-on-one with another Hexer in Belfry Sol and we got hit by each other's Climax. Survived it with about 4% of HP because of the raw dark defense you get from leveling up INT and FTH along with decent max HP (1900 - 2000).

if it does maximum damage at 5000 why does it need all your souls? its just excessive.

ok so storytime real fast, i was farming memory of orro and i forgot to unequip climax bc i thought i would never be stupid enough to use it but i was lazy enough to not unequip it so i farm that **** for like 2 or 3 hours getting like 500k souls per run and thats a lot so i do this **** straight for like 2 or 3 hours and im here chillin at the bonfire not resting at it tho with like 40m souls and at that point i was like lvl 250 smth like that and i had to go eat and after that i stayed a bit on tiktok bc i was exausted and i didnt have the ring that collects your souls bc i didnt know how to extract souls from it so im chillin there and i get invaded so i think its some npc but no i was a player that was around my soullvl and i panic bc i knew that at that lvl you have strong hexes why i know that, bc thats what i was going for, a huge ****ing tank that has 70 strengh and can use powerful hexes for my ng+3 so back to it i get invaded and im randomly scrollin trough my hexes and I THINK THAT I CHOSE great resonant soul to use but i actually picked climax and ofc i killed him but guess ****ING WHAT... i had 0 souls...this **** happened a week ago and im still mad at myself for not going to majula and chillin there

Do soul consuming hexes remove from soul memory, or is it like buying something and they stay in soul memory?

Don't be a fool like me. I used 200k souls because of the description of the hex ingame. I thought that if I used a massive amount of souls I wpuld have killed vendrick in one hit... I was wrong.

For some reason, I can't seem to use this spell on Lost Sinner, Najka, Freja, Mytha, Nashandra or Elana. Is this a bug? Covetous Demon seems very susceptible to it, though.

Sadly, this is the most useless hex in the game. They could at least fix it but having it’s max soul draw at 5000 souls per cast rather then ALL the souls.

Why the ***** did "blubbber32" vandalize this page?!? Im just a random so i cant fix their bull*****revision. And they have a video?!? What the actual ***** dude.

I completed all three dungeons and killed darklurker but I didn't get climax. Why?

I think that if this spell reaches max damage at 5000 souls, then its cost should max out at 5000 for big game hunting.

Does muffdiver mc*****stick give you another copy of these spells on NG+? I just did all the things and beat the darklurker on NG+ and all I got was another dragon chime.

900k soul gone, can't even take down the first Drakekeeper in the Dragon Shrine. F***

I repaired the damage as best as I could so somebody in charge should look this over ("notes"!) and lock this page asap.
Did you do it? "Yes". What did it cost? "Everything".
