Great Club is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.

 

A giant wooden club made from branches of a towering tree.

Designed to smash foes. Simple but terribly effective against common shields. 

Acquired From

  • Found in a chest in the lower area of The Gutter: After the second bonfire, head down to the bottom of the gutter, once you hit dirt before going to the black gulch, there is a ladder to climb up that leads you to the chest with the Great Club inside.

 

Hints and Tips:

  • Upgraded with regular Titanite.
  • Cannot be infused with Bleed.
  • At Normal +10 with 50 Strength this weapon has an Attack Rating of 567 (420+147), which is better than the Large Club at same stats (has 546 AR).
  • The Large Club and Great Club, both at 70 durability, have their durability go down really fast. Probably better suited for bosses or used with the Bracing Knuckle Ring.
  • Despite its massive size and weight this weapon and similar weapons in the class actually have amazing directional control which can be used to catch opponents approach from your rear completely off guard. To do so, you must be un-locked and initiate the attack in the opposite direction you want it to land - as soon as the attack begins, move the directional pad (or mouse) to the opposite side of the character.
  • Can be power stanced with the Large Club

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
