Dragon Tooth is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.

A giant dragon tooth used as a great hammer. As solid as a boulder, this tooth is said to be taken from a dragon, but the truth of this claim is unclear.

What is certain is that is bears some mystical power, and its wielder gains resistance to magic and fire.

Effect: resistance to magic and fire

Acquired From

DARK SOULS II

  • Treasure from Dragon Aerie. You will find it in a nest full of dragon eggs. It should be the first nest in the area you fight the first dragon. Roll through the eggs or attack them to break them. It will be in the centre.

SCHOLAR OF THE FIRST SIN

  • Same location as in the base game, but an additional Dragon Tooth can be found in the area after the Belfry Gargoyles boss engagement. Below the bonfire with dogs and an NPC invader. (where the Bastille Key was originally obtained)

Hints and Tips:

  • Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite. Cannot be infused with Bleed.
  • Grants Magic and Fire resistance: Raises Fire and Magic defence by 50 points.
  • Best used with high poise to punish in mid attack and stun-lock (applicable in both PvP and PvE).

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

Probably one of the best Great Hammers, has superior AR and identical scaling when fully upgraded compared to the Demon Great Hammer, it's lighter and in general has pretty reasonable weight for a weapon of its class, it is one of the longest greathammers, and it has a very good moveset, having ultra greatsword r1s when 2-handed and the suprisingly fast 2-handed pancake R2 is very well complemented by the good reach, and the 1-handed r1s are very good at rollcatching if you aim your swings well, also in Scholar of the First Sin you can get it early relatively easily if you fight the Belfry Gargoyles.

Funny how both the Dragon Tooth and Grand Lance, two very powerful and high-tier weapons are very easy to get early in Scholar of the First Sin compared to the base game where they are very late-game weapons, although with how brutal and downright cruel Scholar of the First Sin can be it's fairly understandable why that change was made.

          Trash wep
Basic R1 will often swing behind you even tho your locked onto enemies in front of you
Almost every attack has the wep hit the ground which causes the Durability to drop steadily
The weight, stamina cost, skill req, AND changed moveset from DS1 make it not worth compared to other weapons.
In DS1 you could roll and press R1 to do a very quick attack, in this its just another basic club slam attack.

When you are wielding two of them, do you know if the 50 percent buff stacks too a 100 percent increase? Or does it just stay at 50 percent?

Durability on this weapon is a joke. Must be something about great hammers, because using the blacksmiths hammer with only 10 more points of durability i never had to worry about weapon breakage. Switched to this and now I have to carry around repair powder in my pockets like a ****ing samurai. Broke in the middle of a fight with an invader. Good thing it was a scripted invasion. Tracking also sucks donkey balls. My character will for no reason turn his back to the enemy and slam the ground in 180• the wrong direction sometimes. ****ing bullshit like this makes me understand how people bad be talking **** about DS2 as the worst souls. I think it’s a great game, with a map that’s probably even more interesting than Elden Ring’s, but this kinda **** just made me rage quit for the first time in a long time.

Yeah it takes 50 strength and it weighs a **** ton, but it's still crazy how fast you can get this if you know what you're doing

                • Anonymous

Has anyone noticed it parries really quickly for its size? Still too slow to rely on but the speed along with the "TONG" sound makes it really cool

                  • Anonymous

I killed the belfry gargoyles then went to the bonfire, killed the dogs and the invader but there was only a key in the corpse! No dragon tooth...

                    • Anonymous

My question is: Why did they lower the *****ing durability on the weapon. It is, like, my favourite weapon in Dark Souls 1, because it A.) Hits like a truck when upgraded with the right materials, 2.) Can be buffed but never infused, and D.) Has the highest durability of any weapon in all of Dark Souls. But here? HOW THE ***** do you explain the fact that this weapon has about 70 durability in Dark Souls 2!? It’s nice to have a strength weapon that is easy on the durability; this ain’t it, chief! And coupled with Scholar of the First Sin running at 60FPS on my XBox One S, AND THE FACT that there’s no patch to help with lowered durability, this just makes it even more pathetic!

                      • Anonymous

you can find other after the Belfry Gargoyle Boss, after the campfire go down stairs, you get invaded, go to the corpse at the end

Mad dragon build power stance 2 of these babies Start bandit Dump stats adapt, atunement, int, faith 75 str (requires 69 lvls) 15 dex (1 lvl) 50 vit ( 39 lvls) 30 end(23 lvls) 30 vig (21 lvls) Wich puts you at soul lvl 164 but ive seen SL of 200 in pvp so you have 36 lvls of wiggle room you could get your 30 adaptability with a few more points in endurance Have fun oneshotting everything Ow armor? Something reasonably light ofc third dragon ring and soldier ring+2 you need high poise for this build so a ring of giants is def up there red tearstone ring for that extra umph at the end is also a lot of fun but 4th ring is w/e you prefer
