Sanctum Mace is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.

 

A mace wielded by sanctum soldiers.

This mace was corrupted by poison when Sinh, the sleeping dragon, awoke.

A mere mortal would be asphyxiated by the poison emitted when wielding this, but for the noxious sanctum soldiers, this fact matters none.

Hints and Tips:

  • Upgraded with regular Titanite. Cannot be infused with Bleed.
  • This mace poisons the player with each attack
  • The two-handed moveset also includes some of the lance moveset, the first R1, the second R2, and the running attack are all lances moveset.
  • It is recommended to wear the Poisonbite Ring and/or the Ring of Resistence in combination with high poison defence armor to prevent poisoning yourself
  • Wearing above rings together with the Shadow Set and Yorgh's Spear fully negates the poison damage taken by the sanctum mace.
  • The mace can be buffed with Rotten Pine Resin, thus infusing the weapon with poison is not recommended.
  • This weapon has extremely low durability for a weapon of its class.  In addition, having poison buildup when you attack seems to drain even more of the durability.  This makes it very hard to make proper use of it without the Bracing Knuckle Ring

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

      trash weapon. super fragile with only average damage. and the poison build up is a hinderance more then anything since you have to wear armor and rings specifically meant to get rid of the build up which leaves little for most other things youd actually want for this like a bracing knuckle ring.

        Should you infuse the mace at all? Or is it the best to keep it uninfused? Becease i know 't whole "Don't infuse it with poison" but is it still good if infused with somthing else?

          As durable as a dried out breadstick, this is essentially a toy for PVP. I killed two enemies with it and its durability was down 17 points (to 13) and it broke two enemies later. Good damage, but not at all worth it for PVP. It does drop (very rarely) from Sanctum soldiers wielding it as one dropped it for me tonight.

            You can find the mace on a body near the second bonfire of sanctum city. Not sure if the soldiers actually drop the item - I have spent quite a bit of time farming them for the gauntlets and never once got the mace

              This weapon is a lie. I hunted every mace wielding guy to extinction with a covetous gold ring +1 and found none.

                This thing has a very unique moveset, definitely worth checking out if you don't mind wearing a ring or two for poison resistance. 2H normal attack is a lance thrust and then a hammer swipe, strong attack is a spin, running attack is a lance charge.

                • Things I wish I could change about this weapon: It's appearance (a uncorrupted version) It's moveset and if I could remove it's poison effect. I really like the look of it but everything I mentioned above ruins it for me.

                    If you are currently poisoned with the mace and you hit an enemy, The mace will take significantly more durability on attack.
