Sacred Chime Hammer is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Great hammer of the Royal Aegis.
The power of the hammer's blessing has not faded completely, despite being exposed to the dark of the Undead Crypt.
Unleash its latent power with a strong attack.
Sir Velstadt, known as the Royal Aegis, gave himself to the King both in life and death.
Acquired From:
- Weaponsmith Ornifex: traded for Soul of Velstadt, and 3,000 souls.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with Petrified Dragon Bone, to +5. Cannot be infused with Bleed.
- Fulfilling all the stat requirements (it's enough to have half of required STR) allows the two-handed strong attack to emit a spread of dark orbs after a small cast time, similar to that of Velstadt. These orbs drain stamina if they are not blocked much like all dark magic. It also has homing similar to Affinity, and the sigil of Scraps of Life, but the orb's landing location is fixed once it's locked on, unlike Affinity.
- Recommended to infuse with Dark to increase the power of the special attack.
- Consumes very low stamina for a weapon of its class. With 30 END, you can do 6 one handed R1s and 5 two handed R1s before stamina runs out. For comparison, the Crypt Blacksword, a potential competitor for the Sacred Chime Hammer, can just barely do 5 one handed R1s and 4 two handed R1s with the same endurance. And compared to the Demon's Great Hammer, a weapon of the same class with a similar moveset, but no dark damage, it is even more dramatic. With 30 END, the Demon's Great Hammer can do 4 one handed R1s and 4 two handed R1s.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

velsdat best phase 1 ever 18th best phase 2 single handley made me enjoy ds2

Why can't this cast miracles/hexes like the mace of the insolent does? It even has chime in the name and Velstadt uses it like that. Add a bell sound instead of the chime sound when casting and this weapon would be perfect.
- Anonymous
Doesn't make a satisfying *DONG!* When you hit something with it, so sadge

Just because the r2 deals low damage doesn't mean it should be ignored. Dark proyectiles not only deals good poise damage, they also reduce stamina. If an enemy rushes at you and gets hit by the orbs he ignored, he'll be without stamina and wide open to 2 greathammer slams.
my only complaint is that the bell doesn't ring when you hit something.

Damn...those are some brutal requirements. I'm not sure if I've seen any other weapon that requires stats in every different category before.

Cool weapon but too bad that the R2 attack sucks ding dongs, even dark infused with 40 int/faith it does low damage and tend to miss against small enemies
why are both this and the crypt blacksword useless due to having high str requirements and weight yet being meant for dark builds which usually have to sacrifice str and vit to maintain decent damage

This plus Old Bell Helm and Throne Watcher Shield for the ultimate Bell Keeper fashion.

Initially, the special attack seems a bit lack luster and slow, and can only be used outdoors. But therein lies the advantage. More often than not, the special attack catches people off-guard in PVP because they don't bother avoiding it until its too late. It chunks off some health, then you lead in with a two-handed R1 combo. Stylish win.

I love this wepon I used it on my first playthrough in 2017 but I really wish this was in ds3 I just wanna bonk things whith my bell .
Honestly, a Havel monster could use this, because you would invest 24 points of magic, and at the right lvl, it would still be devastating, with just strength and dex alone
- Anonymous
If you gave your hex build enough STR to use the blacksword, this thing is absolutely worth trying as well
- Anonymous
I wish there was an uncorrupted version of this that is lightning based and has a WOG special attack like Grant. But that might be a bit too Op and everyone would cry about it.

Hey, miracles uses chimes, right? And we don't have many weapons that scale with faith in this game, right? And this boss is kinda holy knight, right? Cool but this literally chime hammer is for hex
- Anonymous
Hey a cool faith weapon?
No it's for freaking hex builds.
I hate this game sometimes

Wish the affinity spell replaced the parry animation instead of the strong attack, but the 1HR1 combo is more than enough to kill most mobs
- Anonymous
I'm still disappointed cause it doesn't give off a satisfying "Dong" every time it hits something
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
It loses about 10 durability per strong attack. You'd need to permanently keep repair powder in your belt slots if you plan on using this at all. Or the repair spell, I guess.
