Hints and Tips:

  • Reinforced with Petrified Dragon Bone to +5.
  • Uses the Greataxe moveset.
  • By default it deals Dark damage, it can also be infused with Darknight Stone and buffed with Dark Weapon, best for hexers with high Strength, Intelligence and Faith.
  • It receives S scaling on Dark if infused with Dark.
  • Two-handed strong attack can knock down enemies, like the Murakumo.
  • Wielded by Grave Warden Agdayne when he's summoned or aggroed.
  • It bears resemblance to the Dragonslayer, a giant two-handed sword wielded by Guts, from Berserk (anime/manga).

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

I don't know if any other weapon can do it, but I was farming at the belfry sol bonfire and one of those short dudes threw a firebomb at me. I did the heavy attack which missed him but hit the firebomb and the firebomb went back towards him. Can melee attacks can deflect lobbed projectiles?

Am i the only bothered by how stumpy this one is? I know it makes sense considering the utterly ludicrous amount of damage it can deal, but still, compared to let's say the Guts Sword (Greatsword), It seems so short and stumpy for how thick and heavy it is

        • Anonymous

easily one of the best weapons in the game. just infuse it with Dark and buff with dark or lightning to delete bosses easier

          • Anonymous

It's a very high investment, but you can use a greatsword infused with dark while don't have 40 str, scales A in str and B in dark

            • Anonymous

It's very good on PvE, however it's so damn useless on PvP. If you're like me, who use same weapon for PvE and PvP, this might not be the best weapon for you.

So I’m confused, is this the sword that’s supposed to be from Berserk, or is the regular Greatsword supposed to be from berserk? Bc everyone seems to insist that both weapons, which look very different, are so similar to the berserk sword that it couldn’t possibly be coincidence

                • Anonymous

this is honestly perfect for a pyro/hex (or int/faith if thats what you wanna call it) guts build since if you dark infuse this, you´ll also have the stats necessary to deal good damage with great fireball or great combustion to mimic his arm cannon

                  • Anonymous

damn you know this sword kind of looks similar to another sword from a different IP, wild! anyway time to post this observation without scrolling down

Too slow to spam, too heavy to combine with a shield. Would this weapon force me to acquire... urgh, skill?
Nope, it just two shots everything, lolollol

                      • i use this on a quality build with just int and fth to use it w/ a spiced down dark weapon and it does really good damage, usually a thousand a combo. I'm sure it would be way better with a more dark build

                        • Anonymous

Berserk fans: it was too big to be called a sword. Larger, thicker, heavier and far too rough. It was more like a raw chunk of...

Agdayne: "You picked the wrong house, fool!"

                          • Anonymous

His weapon was far too large to rightfully be called a sword
It's was larger, Thicker, Heavier, and cruder than any normal blade

Indeed it's was a giant purple popsicle.

Honestly this sword grew on me. It has massive damage but I thought the moveset was kind of lacking. It wasnt until I tried it on a couple bosses that i realized how good it is. With a dark weapon and dark infusion this thing is op. I use one handed for straight one on one to catch a parry, and use two handed for groups. Also love the jumping r2

If you want the hex that comes from the Old Dead One's Soul as well as the sword (for whatever reason) you should know that you get the soul every other NG cycle/bonfire ascetic usage (NG = Nothing, NG+ = Soul, etc)

                                • Anonymous

For hexers with high casting stats but just enough STR to two-hand, it's still worth having as the stagger is something a caster doesn't get easily. Pair that with S in dark scaling with infusion and you'll be making up in dark dmg what you'll lack in phys. While stunlocking anything in existence

                                  • Anonymous

If anyone is willing to drop this For me cause i dont want to wait for ng+ to get this but if anyone is willing to

                                    • Anonymous

If you're not good with this weapon and you still have enough weight to wield it as a backup weapon, it's the best riposte/backstab weapon for a hex melee build.

i got invaded in no man's wharf when starting a new playthrough and the invader had this... twinks are still around in 2018, folks. i mean gg for beating NG++ rotten and keeping your level that low but also please stop

Tell, that explains why Grave Warden Agdayne does not have his katana when summoned or argooed, because he is not a f*****g casul.

                                          • Anonymous

Just so the wiki is aware, in Sotfs it goes to S scaling in Dark even if its enchanted with fire, lightning, magic, or poison. Best dark increase with dark infusion of course. I also have over 800 AR at 43 Strength and 50 intelligence and faith with the ring of blades+1

                                            • Anonymous

"At 45 str/dex, 45 int, and 63 faith, while infused with Dark and wearing Ring of Blades +2 and Dark Clutch Ring, it has an astounding AR of 870 (266+65 Phys damage, 218+320 Dark damage). With Dark Weapon applied that brings the weapons total AR to 1067." Does this mean 45 in strength and 45 in dexterity, or 45 in str/dex COMBINED?

                                              • Anonymous

In order to get the crypt blacksword, you have to kill the rotten in NG+ or higher. upon defeat of the rotten, you'll gain the rottens original soul drop plus an additional soul called the "Old Dead One" To get the Sword Bring the new soul to weapon smith ornifax, there you can trade soul for sword. Easiest way to do this is to use a bonfire ascetic That way you dont have to wait till your second play through to gain it...,,,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,> I hope this tid bit has helped in one way or another.

                                                • Anonymous

Can someone fix this season's damage? It says that it deals pure dark damage and has no regular dark scaling.

                                                  • When buffed:

                                                    Gold Pine Resin: Lemon Popsicle.
                                                    Dark: Grape Popsicle.
                                                    Burnt Pine Resin: Orange Popsicle.
                                                    Magic: Blueberry/Blue Raspberry Popsicle.

But no matter what buff you put on it, the only flavor that Popsicle will have is...PAIN!!!
