Ashen Mist Heart is a Key item in Dark Souls 2.
Usage:
Have it in your inventory and examine the overgrown body of a giant to access a memory.
Use to trigger the giant memories in Forest of Fallen Giants, Brightstone Cove Tseldora and Undead Crypt
- Memory of Vammar
- Memory of Orro
- Memory of Jeigh
- Dragon Memories
- Memory of the King (DLC)
- Memory of the Old Iron King (DLC)
Location
- Obtained by speaking with the Ancient Dragon, in the Dragon Shrine
- Also dropped by the Ancient Dragon when defeated, if you manage to aggro it before talking to it.

I've wondered if the Ashen mist heart is related to the "egg" Filianore is holding. Mostly considering it's powers to "manipulate" time. We only see it broken and worse after our character reaches out to it. But what is it as a whole...

If you ever wanna De-agro the dragon, just talk to the guy in the black robe in Brightstone Cove Tseldora above the small chapel to clear your Sin.
