Claymore is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A very large greatsword. Very heavy, and designed for use with both hands.
Allows for broad attacks that are effective against multiple foes. Requires great strength and experience to handle effectively.
Acquired From
- Sold by Head of Vengarl for 4,300 souls in the heavily fogged forest area within the Shaded Woods. (Unlimited)
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10.
- The Claymore is a very reliable and popular weapon for both PvE and PvP. Standard attacks have a very wide hitbox, while a Claymore's heavy attacks have spear-like range and are easily combo'ed. If you face a Claymore user in PvP, make sure you don't get hit by his first swing as he will usually be able to combo you down if it lands, if you're attempting to backstab a Claymore user, be sure land the blow before the second swing.
- At Normal +10 with 40 Strength and 40 Dexterity the Claymore has an Attack Rating of 395 (290+105).
- At Enchanted +10 with the required minimal values for STR and DEX (20 and 13) and INT of 50 the Claymore does 290 +50 Physical Damage.
- At Magic +10 with the required minimal values for STR and DEX (20 and 13) and INT of 50 the Claymore does 203 + 20 Physical and 203 + 46 Magical Damage.
- At Fire +10 with 20 STR/DEX, and 30 INT/FTH the Claymore does 203 + 22 Physical and 203 + 44 Fire Damage.

Both of the 2H R2's deal thrust damage, this was tested on one of the Aldia Keep Ogres.

Great combo: 2H R1, R1, and then R2; most opponents reactively roll all vertically, so this is like to clip them, it worked twice on a chugger, killing him the second time.

This is my favorite weapon in the entire game. My first character was a quality build with 30 str/dex and I got my hands on this and I fell in love. It has beautiful combos and you can be very effective 2 handing or 1 handing it. Just a good weapon for any situation.
