Shadow Set is an Attire or Armor in Dark Souls 2. Armor sets do not provide specific benefits, so players are free to mix and match their preferred parts to optimize their Builds.
"Used to hide in the cover of night. Those who are especially adept assassins are often hired as bodyguards.
In an attempt to stave off the curse, King Vendrick hired shadowmen to put down the Hollows, but before long they were Hollowed themselves"
Set Location
- Dropped by Nimble Shadows in No Man's Wharf (NG+ Flexile Sentry boss fight).
- [Scholar of the First Sin] Nimble Shadows appear as regular enemies in No-Man's Wharf (two, next to house at pier exit), The Lost Bastille (one, in the storage with 5 metal chests) and in Earthen Peak (one, next to boss exit).
Notes
- Upgraded with regular Titanite.
- Mask offers the highest poison resistance, as well as second highest dark defense (almost equal to that of Executioner helm and Velstadt's helm).
- Gauntlets offer second highest poison resistance (almost equal to that of Northwarder gloves and Tattered Cloth manchettes).
- Gauntlets require 16 DEX and cause bleeding when used for attacking.
- The two suspicious shadows NPC that fight alongside Flexile Sentry have noticeably different headgear: one wears the standard shadow headpiece, while the other appears to wear a crooked helmet that has a hawk-like characteristics. The different headgear does not drop as loot, nor is it usable by the player.
- Mask resembles the one worn by Sealer Ingward from Dark Souls, which is believed to be based on Plague Doctor mask, but without hood. It's also a reference to plague doctor mask attributed to Charles de Lorme. The bird-like beak of the mask was often filled with sweet or strong-smelling substances (commonly lavender) to block the smell of plague-stricken corpses.

Easiest farm at the top of earthen peak, 1v1 right next to the bonfire!

fastest way to farm it:
wearing full item discovery set, run from the no man's wharf bonfire across the bridge to the place where you encounter the the two nimble shadows. After you kill them use your aged feather, accursed darksign or die, then repeat. Took me 2 hours but i got it

If you wanna wear the full set for fashion, i suggest you go hollow (1 death is enough), this is because there's a really awkward spot between the mask and the top where your skin is visible. Human skin stands out, while hollowed doesn't.

farming using the company of champions at the bottom of the elevator at straid cell is a good bet for farming (low hp enemy in the path and only one Nimble Shadow enemy to fight so is not overwhelming)

The foot claws on the leggings are so aesthetically pleasing.

With this set and the way these guys move around, they remind me of blades from devil may cry.

Someone is saying that they are available near the boss on earthpeak, but I'm assuming that that isn't in the ps3 version. I've been using the ps3 SotFS and keep running into inconsistencies between the guide and the game. I'm aware of the buttons near the top to switch between the two versions but there are many occasions where the ps3 button pulls up a blank page. So, instead of whining anymore about that, let me ask this: is there any place to run into these guys in NG in the ps3 versions? Or do I have to wait til NG+ (obviously without the ascetics; I agree with the guy who says he's not a fan of boosting everything just to get at one enemy)

Killed those two in NG (PC) No Man's Wharf 82 times (two of them, so 164 kills), to get 1 Shadow Mask. Also got 10 gauntlets, 1 leggings and 5 top. Funny, first time I've played it with another character, I got the mask from second try.

Dark Souls 1 and 3 can suck it as far as best looking shadow set is concerned.
odd question I'm on PS3 and I'd love this armor for a dex character? Anyone willing to discuss a trade? I'm not a fan of powering up No Man's Wharf with ascetics jsut to get it...

If you are in the company of champions and have beaten the boss, will they still spawn?

Some yahoo *cough cough season2003 cough cough* erroneously stated that the gauntlets had "c" scaling. After wasting oh-so-much of my precious early-game titanite, I find that it's not true. Someone change it back to "e" scaling?
Easiest Way if you're a mage- Enter boss fight and use soul great sword. Hits and kills both in one hit. Loot, quit and repeat. Boom
Tell your dad about me

So, this should aslo include if they respawn infinitely in the normal version of the game. I've heard that they both respawn infinitely and that they don't. Right now I'm farming them in the Covernant of Champions just to be sure.
Quality psycho drip.
