Throne of Want Walkthrough
Back-to-Back-to-Back
In order to reach this place, travel to Drangleic Castle's "King's Gate" bonfire. Leave the bonfire room and head left, equip the King's Ring and the door will open, and you'll find Emerald Herald. She will explain her origins, and Nashandra's intentions to you, before sending you on your way.
Follow the torch-lit stone path to the fog gate, where the summon signs for Vengarl, Benhart of Jugo and Bradley of the Old Guard (who will only be available if Aldia, scholar of the First Sin is the final boss), are all available in close proximity. Proceed through the fog to start your final battles.
BOSS FIGHT: Throne Watcher and Throne Defender
If you have the Giant's Kinship, the second fight begins as soon as the first finishes. If you haven't acquired it yet, you'll have to return once you do to fight Nashandra and proceed to the throne.
BOSS FIGHT: Nashandra
However, if you have interacted with the Scholar of the First Sin and defeated Vendrick, he will appear right after Nashandra's defeat. Thus making the choice of leaving the throne possible.
BOSS FIGHT: Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin
The End
When the final boss is defeated, after the credits the player will be teleported back to Majula, where NG+ can be triggered manually at the bonfire there. By keeping up with the Scholar of the First Sin storyline, and killing Vendrick, you unlock a different ending as opposed to the ending scene after Nashandra.
Notes
- If the player enters the Throne of Want before the Giant Lord is defeated only the Throne Watcher and Throne Defender boss is encountered here. This can be utilized to avoid back to back boss fights as the player is free to leave after.
- Anyone summoned for the first fight will stay for the second if the player has the Giant Lord Soul prior to entering the Throne of Want.
- Despite the fact that the golems move to form a bridge towards the throne of want in the ending cutscene, the golems stay in the same position after the cutscene ends, this makes reaching the throne in-game impossible.
- Even with the Giant's Kinship already acquired, it is still possible to avoid back to back fights. To achieve this, use the Aged Feather right after defeating the Throne Watcher/Defender Boss.

After entering the fog gate the first boss fight will start. If you have the Giant's Kinship, the second bossfight begins as soon as the first finishes. If you haven't got the Giant's Kinship yet, you'll have to return once you do to fight Nashandra and proceed to the throne. However, if you have interacted with the Scholar of the First Sin and defeated Vendrick, he will appear right after Nashandra's defeat. Thus making the choice of leaving the throne possible.

- With the Scholar of the First Sin patch, there are now two endings. One is accessible only after beating Aldia.
- With the Giant Lord Soul already acquired It's still possible to avoid back to back fights using the Aged Feather right after defeating the Throne Watcher/Defender Boss.

There seems to be a weird bug where the Emerald Herald will not show up and deliver her dialogue about her name and creation. Not sure what is causing it but it may have something to do with proceeding to the boss room before getting giant kinship.

Game did not let me feather. I did not get the SotFS ending that I wanted.

Fought all 3 back to back, I also brought in the 3 npc summons nearby. If you are quick they will stay around for all 3 fights. Also seems like you have to aim for the red eye on Aldia or it takes almost no damage.

Noone seem to want this throne. The one who Wants a thing is the effing chair itself. And the thing is a cursed undead arse, fat enough to link the Fire with. Would you kindy offer yours, so the world is free from the curse for a while, or will you walk away to seek a personal cure and end up like Vendrick?

As usual with all FromSoft games, you get a lame and boring ending for all that hard work. Meh.

I couldn't exit the credits so I went to make myself some tea and when I came back I was in Majula with no souls and very minor hollowing, what the hell? I checked the throne of want and there was no bloodstain anywhere. SotFS

I dont have SoTFS, none of the dlcs and aldia showed up as the final boss. Im on ng++ and this never occured before. Can someone pls explain this to me?
On PC during the end credits for some reason if you press "m" on the keyboard and haven't used the menu to rebind it.. you'll hear a shuffling sound like your character is moving around. No other key or controller button press did anything but "m" did for some reason. Totally useless and random information but interesting to know that the game still has you rendered in some form during the entire end credits.

Am pretty sure I have done everything and completed the game, however I can't start new game plus. I defeated the final boss, I don't understand.

so i wanted the ending with me just beating nashandra but aldia poped up after (keep in mind this is my first play thru still)
So, after beating Throne Watchers and Nashandra and boning out from AIdia, I used a bonfire ascetic to bump the King's Gate bonfire to ng+ so I could get the Ring of Blades +2 for the DLCs. I would have thought the Throne of Want must be connected to another bonfire because it let me boost it even though Aldia's fog wall was still there and waiting. Long story short, I beat every other boss and come back to Drangleic for the finale and I have to go through ng+ Throne Watchers and Nashandra just to get my first shot at Aldia. Wasn't a gigantic pain in the end but I thought I'd advise people to think about just beating Aldia first before the DLCs if you want to pick up the RoB+2.
