Firedrake Stone is a type of Upgrade Material in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2)Firedrake Stone, a modified form of titanite. Apply it to infuse weapons with fire or to bestow fire resistance to shields. An altered state of titanite. Use to imbue weapons with fire, or to provide fire reduction to shields.
Sorcerers at the Melfian Magic Academy once attempted to imbue titanite with various elements, but are said to have failed. Someone must have succeeded though; what else would explain this stone?

I just wanted to point out where the site says: "From the salamander area at the Forest of Fallen Giants need Silvercat Ring or the Fall Control spell or the Iron Key, which opens the door located near TheLast Giant boss fight." You do not need the Silvercat Ring to get the Firedrake Stone in the salamander area. You go down the ladder from the Cardinal Tower bonfire. If you run and jump and do a plunge attack towards the far salamander, you can land on its head and there will be this attack animation. After that you can sprint towards the Firedrake Stone in the middle and snag it being fast. No Silvercat Ring required. Just note you'll most likely die, those fireballs hurt.

It seems like a rare drop but those Ironclad Knights (aka Turtle Knights) in Iron Keep can drop Firedrake Stones. Most people don't know this because they more commonly drop Large Titanite Shards.
