Standard Shields | Strike / Parry | ||
Enchantable: Yes/No |
No Special |
Chaos Shield is a Standard Shield in Dark Souls 2.
"Shield of darkness and chaos.
Once, a brilliant young sorcerer cast away his
earthly desires, devoting himself entirely to the
Dark that bewitched him.
Nebulous, inky and serene, the Dark holds an
allure matched only by the fear it strikes
in men's hearts. Could it be nature,
holding a mirror to mankind?"
Standard Shields can be used not only to block an enemy but to parry their attack as well. This allows a riposte, a free attack by the player for a high amount of damage. Enemy attacks can be interrupted with a parry (pressing the Strong Attack button for the shield) and requires practice to learn the timing.
Acquired From
- Dropped by the Undead Aberration in Aldia's Keep.
- In Scholar of The First Sin, Can be bought from Felkin The Outcast in Huntman's Corpse.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.
- Has a high resistance to dark; but a dark Transgressor's Leather Shield shield has the highest dark reduction (100%)
Trivia:
- Like the Chaos Rapier, this shield was originally intended to be used by Felkin the Outcast, as it was portrayed in his original concept art.
- The crest portrayed on the shield is the Sunset Staff, which is wielded by Felkin.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.

Rebel shield can also hit 100% dark if infused, heck rebel hit 100% in whatever you fuse on it. You can also get it WAY earlier, you can get it in the time it takes you to get from start to Cardinal tower bonfire plus maybe 1 min.
When you climb down the ladder from the bonfire to the walkway over the fire lizards place.then you just run and jump over the ledge in the direction a lizard is and do a plunge attack on its head, then you need to run fast as hell to a tunnel going down with another lizard standing by the opening looking down to where you need to go (and whatever you do, dont run in a straight line, that will almost certainly get you hit, stunlocked and killed after you're in the clear from those behind you (but dont stop, YOU'RE NOT in the clear) run after the left wall, then you'lk see like a cave opening, sort of coming to the left, run in straight away and quickly take the shiney before the Lizard behind kills you. After that, just die. Also, FYI, doing this you dont have to come back later after killing Iron King to get the key for the dlc to then go back to enter dlc

In SOFTS it will give you 100% dark reduction when imbued!
This shield is much better than the leather transgressor shield now, plus it has a cool design, really amazing for a dark knight with dark clothes ;)
