Standard Shields Strike / Parry
Enchantable:
Yes/No
No Special

Lion Clan Shield is a Standard Shield in Dark Souls 2. Standard Shields can be used not only to block an enemy but to parry their attack as well. This allows a riposte, a free attack by the player for a high amount of damage. Enemy attacks can be interrupted with a parry (pressing the Strong Attack button for the shield) and requires practice to learn the timing.

Hints and Tips:

  • Provides both Curse and Petrification resistance.
  • Despite being inferior to Golden Wing Shield and Stone Shield, the high Physical damage reduction and low strength requirement is a good consideration.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".

Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

Shield used by the Lion Clan warriors.
Made of wood, but reinforced with metal.
Light yet sturdy.

The design on the shield appears to have some religious significance, but we will never know what sort of gods these warriors answer to.

The shape of this shield is very similar to the Grafted Scion shield in Elden Ring, just made of wood instead of gold, and a medium shield instead of a great shield...

This is also the Wargod Wooden Shield from Dark Souls III, the lore implication are very interesting. It all ties Faraam, the Lion Clan, Nameless King and the Mound-Makers together.
