Xanthous Set is an Attire or Armor in Dark Souls 2. Armor sets do not provide specific benefits, so players are free to mix and match their preferred parts to optimize their Builds.
"This blindingly-bright yellow costume is said to have been worn by Xanthous King.
Perhaps the heinously towering head cloth crown served some purpose, or perhaps it was some strange display of power"
Despite the costume's being in near tatters, its yellow hues are mysteriously unfaded."
Set Location
- Given by Darkdiver Grandahl upon reaching rank 3 in Pilgrims of Dark covenant (that includes killing Darklurker).
- Note: this armor set is only given once per character; killing Darklurker again on NG+ won't help.
Notes
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.
- Crown offers the highest strike defense (even higher than that of Gyrm Warrior Greathelm; other physical defenses are rather low) and the highest curse resistance (not counting the two helms that negate curse completely).
- Although a minor change, the crown is considerably shorter than in previous titles.

personally i think ds1 and 2s xanthous set looks like dogwater.. but ds3 is sonewhat nice... just not the helm.

I love the headgear for its resemblance of that boss battle in demon souls where (until, unfortunately, now) you could be the boss with that and can be the scummy boss with a early attack, or face someone like that (or go offline like a coward) looks terrible as a headgear just more nostalgia than anything

You’d think you’d get some badass dark armor or even Grandahl robes if you beat the Darklurker, but no, you get the costume that looks like a used q-tip.

i just have two complains about the set. The first one is that you have to kill one of the hardest bosses in the vanilla game and the second is the size of the zanthous crown, why the hell they didn't kept the size that is was in DS1?!

I didn't get this after defeating the Darklurker.
I just got the regular 2nd rank reward for the covenant instead. >=(
please please can anybody trade this item with me? i ended up discarding all the set, i have a lot of hard to farm gear and stuff, including berserker blade, full mad warrior set, monastery scimitar, actually, i have all the weapons in the game, and all the armor sets except for this one, i can trade more than one item for it if wanted
