Aurous Set is an Attire or Armor in Dark Souls 2.


"Helm/Armor/Gauntlets/Leggings of kings of the desert land of Jugo. First worn by Aurous, the land's heroic founder.
According to legend, the armor of Aurous is composed of a mysterious substance that cannot be seen by cowards. What do your eyes tell you? "

Set Location

• Spend 16000 souls at Maughlin's shop in Majula then come back when you have zero souls. Talk to him and he'll give you the set.
• Armor can be dropped by Dark Spirit Rhoy the Explorer in Grave of Saints.

Notes

• Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.
• Raises equipment load (Helm & Gloves =+1% Equipment Load, Chest and legs= +1.5% Equipment load. Total 5% for full set).
• Contrary to popular belief, this set does not become visible by ranking up in the Company of Champions. Rather, the visible set is dropped by a Dark Spirit at No-Man's Wharf in NG+.
• In Scholar of the First Sin, the visible set is obtainable from a chest near the Heide Knight in The Gutter.
• Armor becomes visible when aiming a bow. This can only be seen briefly as you change to First-Person view.
• Armor becomes visible when rolling with the simpleton's ring. It can only be seen briefly at the beginning and end of the roll before you become invisible
• In addition to giving extra carry weight the whole set is incredibly light for the protection provided, essentially freeing up a lot of soul levels which would have otherwise been spent on VIT

Set Location

• The entire visible set drops from a Dark Spirit at No-Man's Wharf on the ship in NG+ and above (Spawns once per playthrough, bonfire ascetic required). (for Scholar of the first sin)Another location is in the Gutter. There is a Chest behind a Heide Knight(with Heide iron mask) in the Gutter, and this set is in the chest.
• Dark Spirit does drop Awestones (Rare Drop).
• SOFS: Full set can be found in a chest in The Gutter. After the Upper Gutter bonfire, fall down the first hole. Jump over to the next platform, cross the hangbridge. At the ledge before you meet the first mutated dog, jump down to the hidden platform and continue that way. You will find a unique Heide Knight with a chest behind him containing the Full Aurous Set.
