Smooth & Silky Stone is a type of consumable in Dark Souls 2.
Usage
- Restores 20% of user's HP.
- Can be traded for medium tier items with Dyna & Tillo in Things Betwixt.
- Dyna & Tillo Item Trading
Location
- x10 reward for achieving the Rat King Covenant rank 2.
- At the beginning near the hut of the 3 Firekeepers, near the waterfall. You can see it from the first bridge to the left. It's a small smooth and silky stone but if you use bonfire ascetic or go there NG+ you will get 3 smooth and silky stone.
- Reward for fulfilling your duty as a shade using the Small White Sign Soapstone.
- Up the stairs to the right before the Lost Sinner boss in Sinners' Rise (need the Bastille Key).
- x5 in a chest in Memory of Vammar near Drummond.
- Drop from the Banedigger (Dark Magic Giants) in Harvest Valley.
- Drop from Amana Aberrations (Lizardmen) in Shrine of Amana.
- Drop from the Undead Devourer (pig) in Brightstone Cove Tseldora near the first bonfire (Royal Army Campsite).(Roughly 1/4 drop rate)
- Drop from Invisible Hollows (SotFS)
Notes
- Dyna & Tillo will not accept stacked stones. You may stand in the nest and select "Leave" and drop them individually to receive a reward. You may drop many individual stones one at a time and receive all the rewards at once.
- You will always receive a reward of the same or a greater tier value.

The trading tiers listed on this page are different from the table posted on the DYna & Tilla page e.g. no demon great hammer from small stone.

everyone’s here breaking down the technical side of trading with these
i just want to know what it’s actually supposed to be...
Data from handing in 100 stones to Dyna & Tilo: Crimson Water: 10 - Demons Great hammer: 4 - Soul of a Proud Knight: 6 - Bleed Stone: 2 - Firedrake Stone: 4 - Poison Stone: 6 - Divine Blessing: 5 - DarkKnight Stone: 6 - Raw Stone: 10 - Titanite Slab: 2 - Old Mundane Stone: 7 - Cracked Redeye Orb: 8 - Titanite Chunk: 1 - Twinkling Titanite: 1 - Old Whip: 3 - Human Effigy: 8 - Cracked Blue eye Orb: 8 - Boltstone: 2 - Fainstone: 2 - Petrified Dragonbone: 5.
Data for farming 100 of these from campsite pigs with a bonus item-find of 100 combined with Covetous ring + 1: Runs:158 - Deaths:12 - Souls:316020 - Sunlight medals:13 - And of course 100 smooth & silky stones. While still a pretty crude approximation of drop rate, this should give a pretty good idea. Not dying would obviously reduce the amount of runs needed.
Handed in 30 of these and got 1 slab, 2 chunks and a bunch for infusion stones. Hopefully I get some twinkles next time.
I have found the pigs at the royal campsite to be the best source for these. Roughly 30 an hour with a few pieces of item discovery gear. Farming them with a fire scythe seems pretty effective.

I'm not sure when exactly was this particular article written, but as of now, February 2017, this is false - you can drop a stack of X stone to then get X rewards. However, I believe there is a cap of 20 items on the floor, when you drop 21st, the first evaporates; so even if you drop 21 stones as one 'item bag', one of the rewards will be missing due to that.

So I have found 2 hidden smooth and silky stones that i didn't see referenced on here. I am playing SOTFS on NG and there seem to be invisible hollows holding them. One is sitting against the wall to Grave Warden Agdayne. I found another in Forest of Fallen Giants near a sconce, but i don't remember exactly where. They don't respawn and if Profound Still is cast close enough to them it highlights them with the little dark orb that appears.
