Name-engraved Ring is a Ring in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). Players can equip up to 4 Rings, but equipping two of the same item is not possible. Some rings have upgraded versions, having a maximum of +3. Some can only be found in NG+. Rings can be repaired at a blacksmith, but not upgraded. Upgraded versions must be acquired throughout the game from corpses, chests, bosses, etc.
Name-engraved Ring Effects
Durability: 130
Weight: 0.2
- Easier to connect to players who chose same God
- Expands Soul Memory Range for co-op items
- Increases Multiplayer Time Limits for all forms of multiplayer that experience the filtering effect from the ring (see below)
Name-Engraved Ring Location
- Sold by Sweet Shalquoir in Majula for 5500 souls.
Notes
- A new god can be chosen upon un-equipping and re-equipping the ring for infinite uses. You can achieve the same effect by selecting the ring in the equip menu, and select "Confirm" on the same ring.
- While not explicitly stated in the description of the ring, it also makes your summon sign inaccessible to anyone who is wearing the ring and has not chosen the same god as you. This includes NPCs.
- It also makes players equipped with the same god appear more frequently as ghosts. This can be tested with a friend near a bonfire.
Gods available:
- Nehma - Goddess of Love
- Caitha - Goddess of Tears
- Calib - God of Disease
- Kremmel - God of Struggle
- Evlana - Goddess of the Hunt
- Hanleth - Goddess of Bliss
- Nahr Alma - God of Blood
- Zinder - God of Desire
- Quella - God of Dream
- Caffrey - Goddess of Fortune
(Fextralife players are generally servants of Evlana - Goddess of the Hunt.)"
Effect on Multiplayer Time Limits
Players summoned using the following items/ methods, combined with the Name-Engraved Ring, will have their multiplayer time limit increased by 50%. The ring doesn't need to remain equipped for the increased time limits to remain; The ring can be unequipped after the session has begun without penalty. Visit the Online page for a complete list of all multiplayer timers.

does anyone know exactly how much it expands the soul memory range?

Calib - God of Disease, sounds lovely or Kremmel - God of Struggle, or or Nahr Alma - God of Blood, there is Caitha - Goddess of Tears too, all sound like great gods.

Quella God of dream...
Miquella the slumbering Demigod who is also said to be Saint Trina who is associated with Sleep...
Fromsoft can say their games aren't connected all they want, but at this point its a little difficult to not see them as connected.

So I noticed this the other day when I was playing with a friend, it seemed when I was a Shade my timer for staying around was slightly longer, for instance the starting location for Hiede's we were grinding the enemies there, we'd generally disappear once we knock the Old Knight off the edge that's beside the boss's lever, but when we used Name Engraved we lasted till either the Greatsword Old knight or the included two Sword and Shield ones died. Note that larger enemies cause your timer to reduce a lot more than smaller ones like Hollow Soldiers. I just wonder if there is a hidden feature that does extend Shade's timer with Name Engraved.

Boy, I sure wish Dark Souls 2 had gotten the love and attention it deserved during development. Fans of the series are so rough on the game! Anyway, I'm gonna go play some Elden Ring and find out more lore about this sleep-associated god Quella--I mean Miquella--and maybe go to this diseased zone called Calib--I mean rotted zone called Caelid--

The description of the ring intrigues me. “Or perhaps they are the very same gods as ours, only known by different names.” So like... DS1 gods? Which ones are which?
I believe that the community should devote to one God when wearing this ring so that we could have better chances of having jolly cooperation, so as the page goes i think Evlanna is the go to
Maybe people far more connected than I could get steam to post a recommendation to wear the ring asap set the huntress at all times.
Why don't we organize the steam Ds2 Sotfs community around one god on the ring ? PS4 XBOX do likewise and pick the sane one. It says Fextra uses Evlanna so let's turn that into a defult. Get the ring asap, Always wear it active to Evlanna and if you like to invade has some decency about being aware if the host is far beneath you or in a crucial action. The DS2 community is too small to be this stratified.

From what i understand, it is pretty hard to get summoned with a SM of 11M. Damn, there goes my sunlight spear.

Still hoping for the they just stop caring about game balance and allow this ring to work across all soul memory tiers. That or they patch a password system in somehow. I mean seriously, at this point who even cares anymore? Soul memory is the only thing I can really find wrong with this game outside of agility being a leveled stat instead of derived from armor weight/type but it's not a big deal to me really

I'm playing SOTFS on PC. My nickname is King_Havel. SL 41 (16 million souls). Please reach me out if you need to farm sunlight medals or help me getting some for myself. Cheers!

Stupid question, but does the name engraved ring give a boost depending on the god? I feel like its a no, but why they put the symbols confuses me...

I am farming some medals to Sun covenant, If someone need help to defeat Fume Knight, my sign will be there. I am SL 187 now, I do not intend to upgrade my status anymore.

Does this ring stack with the Sun Covenant ring? If not, which one takes priority?

I need help on Xbox one scholar of the first sin with gaurdian dragon any help would be awesome my sm is two million tho

They really missed an opportunity for Gwyn- God of Sunlight. True, he is supposedly forgotten by now, even just a "Nameless God of Sunlight" or something would've been really cool.

The Return to Drangleic Event (which started today, February 25 2017) is co oping using the Name-Engraved Ring set to Kremmel, god of struggle, for everyone's information.

are you able to be in a different covenant? I was wondering because I'm pretty sure you need to be in the same covenant in order to join your friends worlds, so is it possible to be in a different covenant than the person you want to summon while using this ring?

So me and my friend were playing. I have a 256 character with over 12 million soul memory, and his 78 with 2 million, and we still can connect. But then I go on my 300k soul memory character to play with him and we can't connect. What are the sm ranges?

I cant edit the page, or at least, I'm not going to try to, but this ring has a bit of a hidden effect. Me and my friends use the ring when co-oping because only people wearing the ring and who have chosen the same god as you can even see your summon sign. It makes things a lot easier for all of us.

Can anyone without the ring see my sign or do they have to have a ring and same god?
Lots of people are using Caffrey - Goddess of Fortune and Nehma goddess of love. The summon range increases is really nice for helper characters.
