Ironclad Soldier is an enemy in Dark Souls 2.
Ironclad Soldier Information
These are the first really "heavy hitters" you encounter. Knights sent from the Iron King's stronghold to reinforce Drangleic against the marauding giant horde, the Old Ironclads are weathered, weaker versions of their stronger cousins. They are nonetheless formidable, clad in heavy armor resembling a turtle's shell and which provides them with enormous defense.
Difficult to stagger, these armored juggernauts carry massive footman's maces designed to smash defenders into paste. Though most of their attacks can be blocked, their swings do enormous stamina drain if defended against with anything less than a greatshield, so dodging them is recommended. They are the only source for the Old Ironclad set.
Note that the Ironclads found in Iron keep are identical, but they have more health, and defense, and cause more damage than their weaker brethren.

Hate these guys, infinite poise, really deceptive reach and rather wonky hitboxes on their overhead smashes, send you flying or flatten you with almost every attack, they have annoying tracking and delays too, I hate these enemies, they're way more of a pain than the Alonne Knights that people often complain about imo, atleast with a big heavy weapon anyways

I hate that move they do when you get behind them where they just suddenly fall ontop of you flattening you under their phat asses, it's so damn fast and out of nowhere and the fact that it pancakes you regardless of your poise like most of the attacks these bastards do really doesn't help

Man I wish they dropped the mace, I would love to roleplay as these damage eaters

Pro tip if you play as dex: buy the spear and use its striking attacks for good damage.

The article says they don't respawn, and yet the ones in the Forest of Fallen Giants definitely do respawn. I fought the same one several times on the wall.

The one just after the guillotine in Iron Keep used a kick attack on me the other day which I've never seen before and isn't listed here....either that or I just didn't see it properly.

Reason number one why SOTFS is the worst in the series. Dark souls 2 is higher as the vanilla version, while as SOTFS is the worst

These guys are the reason the Fire Longsword took a back seat to the Mace, for me. Their weakness to strike damage is absolutely insane. With only 12 strength and 10 dexterity, you can two hand a +3 mace and take these thing down in just two R1 swings. The Fire Longsword +3 with the same stats will still take FOUR two-handed R2s to do the same thing.

Craftman's Hammer+5 + 50STR = Who's dying in two hits now motherfucker?

I got killed by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the Iron keep, I felt like I was near a bonfire, near the guillotine thingy barrier with the turtle down the hallway, I raise the barrier and see his ugly mug looking at me, then I turn around to prepare to fight, so I aggro him and he comes chasing me, I think that there is a slight chance the guillotine will murder him or at least get a successful hit, but obviously no it didn't. So I am moving back, and he hits me, almost killing me, I get back up and roll to the left, he gets me through the goddamn wall.... what the absolute fuck.
I lost 30,000+ souls

My strat when I have no ADP is to unlock (because you move faster) and just run in front of them a bit to bait out an attack so I can retaliate. you can pretty much do that with every enemy though.
