Dark Souls 2 Primal Knight Information
Giant mastadon-like knights. These heavy armor brutes comes in two variants: the Golden ones in Drangleic Castle and the decayed rusted ones in Doors of Pharros. They are all armed with giant Halberds.
One of the original Primal Knights, this ragged creature went Hollow long ago and now wanders mindlessly with its equipment in tatters from long years of neglect. First created through a dark and forbidden ritual in ages past, the Primal Knights are artificial creatures contrived by a twisted and power-hungry mind. Their susceptibility to the Undead Curse, a trait they share with humans, raises foreboding questions about the rituals through which they were given life...

Dark Souls 2 Primal Knight Strategy Tips
- Primal knights are very weak to successful parry. Unlike medium-sized enemies, they can't get up after being parried, and they can't retaliate while lying on the ground.
- They also have a special attack animation if you do a plunging attack on them.

One of these just did a head butt type move on me at Drangleic Castle, just dropped his head onto me, very nearly one shotted me, never seen that before.

Yet another half-assed page. No move set, no strategy tips aside from parrying which seems to have been patched in sotfs. Just a massive tank. Deal with it. Nice one.

Someone theorized in a reddit post that these enemies are failed experiments to bring Syan back to life, and every time a read lore, the more I believe it. They wield halberds and have greatswords. Their armor is very similar to Syan knight armor, and their lore description mentions a dark ritual and how they weirdly bear a curse the same as humans do. It's clear that primal knights are failed experiments of creating human life / homunculus'. Aldia was obsessed with this and learning of how to break the undead curse.

they appear to be based of an elephant "Pishacha" from berserk their description supports this.

I tried to parry them manually, then with auto parry script, they didn't get parried in either scenario. They cannot be parried in SotFS.

Can it be they removed the parriability in SotFS? I never had problems in 2000 h DS2 parrying them, but it won't work in SotFS.

Are these the only enemies that can be plunge attacked that have the unique animation?

They can't get up after being parried.

They wear the Mastodon set and the Rusted Mastodon set but you call them Primal Knights? Why not just Rusty Tusky and Shiny Tusky then?
