Executioner (Torturer) is an enemy in Dark Souls 2.
Executioner (Torturer) Information
"These wicked Torturers don`t wield conventional weapons -- the tools of their trade are intended to inflict pain upon their Undead victims rather than death. If you underestimate them, you`ll find that regardless of their intention, they certainly can kill you."

Strategy Tips
- There is an easy way to deal with the group of executioners that will gank you through your path to the boss fight, once you defeat the first one in the forest, go through the path, then slowly walk forward until you see the first executioner falls down the pillar then run back to the place where you killed the first executioner and wait until he comes to fight you , then repeat for each one of them, the executioners that use whips will do small amount of damage and if their attacks are blocked with a shield will drain only 5 or 6 stamina compared with the ones with the staff that have an absurd damage for a normal enemy

Worth noting they have extremely high super-armor while they're attacking, I've clapped these bastards in the face with two-handed UGS R2s that would normally knock them flat on their asses and they've just eaten it without even flinching, quite annoying considering they also hit like freight-trains and are fast and very aggressive

Not too hard to stagger and don't have that much health, but good lord do these bastards hurt, pretty surprising since the Man Catchers they use (Or at least, that's what their weapons look most similar to) aren't really made to be weapons, they're meant to restrain people and also pull them off of mounts to counter horse riders but wouldn't be able to actually cause much harm to anyone who isn't simply unarmored.

Very quick, deals ton of damage, very hard to defeat overall

What is the deal with these?? Their damage is absolutely insane. And I swear they have gotten way stronger. When I first came through Huntsman's Copse for the first time, they were difficult but not a major problem. I've come back to get the Chloranthy Ring+2 (I'm up to Aldia's Keep now) and suddenly they are the probably the strongest regular enemies in the game. I'm wearing a mix of armor that has both high dark and physical defense and they can still 2 shot me. If I try to use the Silverblack shield that has 80% dark reduction, they annihilate my stamina (25 Endurance) and destroy me. I guess I just need to only dodge attacks like I usually do with everything else instead of trying to be safe and blocking. And then there's gank corridor. First time I came through, I just moved real slowly, was able to aggro them 1 at a time and it wasn't an issue. Now, the second that the first one jumps down, the 2 after him also aggro and it's all over. I didn't burn a bonfire Ascetic in Huntsman's Copse, only in Undead Purgatory. Are they technically part of Undead Purgatory?? I can't think of any other reason why they have become such a nightmare all of a sudden.

The first couple of times on the way to Undead Purgatory, all of them got aggroed at once, even if I tried going slowly the second time to not alert all of them. But then the following few times, I was easily able to lure them out one after the other. What gives?

they just keep chasing me.. damn, ds2 just forces you to fight instead of running away

Sprinting and rolling past them is so easy. Jump to the platform outside the executioner chariot bossfight that has the fire seed and then watch them all walk off the bridge and die for free souls.

b-team: lmao lets put 3 of them together epic dark souls is hard xd

Use yearn to get easy backstabs or to just run past them. It's actually funny to watch them though XD

I'm in NG+ with over 2300 HP and each hit from the red phantom version takes about a quarter of my health. Damn these guys are strong. They are imo the strongest enemy in the game. I thought that their Weapons inflict dark damage but when I blocked their attack with my Greatshield of glory they didn't scratched my health.

Honestly I couldn’t beat a single one at first, but I figured an easy method. Regardless of whatever combo they use, try to stay out of reach or block while moving around them. They stop when they finish their attack briefly, and you can move around and easily backstab them and then finish them off as they get up if you don’t kill them with the backstab. Single out each one of them by moving forward and then getting them by themself. Really easy enemy now

They seem to be weak to fire. It's not worth trying firestorm as the poise effect is almost null, however, the fireball and fire orb blocks their animation and so preventing them from reaching you. Just got to NG+ with a new character and for god sake, these f*ckers are more challenging than many bosses.... 2 dragonriders in Drangleic Castle? I bet 2 of these with a little more HP would be waaaaay beyond

After fighting through them 3 or 4 times i thought the easiest way to handle them was to just run past them, over the bridge and then jump to the left or right side over the gap (just a few meters before the red phantom thingy). They immediately stop hunting you and most of them just fall off the bridge. It's actually really funny to see them just fall down one after another.

The NG++ Executioners become stronger. At first I used the king's shield+5 to block his attack and went around behind him, now eating 2 slashes is "oh" "ah". Why can't you block the enemy's attack?
These things are so annoying and after you beat them you have the real boss of the area, that damn red phantom outside the boss door...

what hurts him the most and what doesnt is all i want to know please.

Anyone who's having trouble with these guys: just creep very slowly into the area where they hang out until you see one aggro, then pull back. Back away from their first attack, roll through their second attack, then circle around them during their third attack and backstab them. I can easily get through all of them without getting hit once using this tactic.

Thats why they made Dark Souls II easier... you can still kill them 12 times or so and they wont respawn lol xD

I can beat these bastards, but by the time I'm through with em, I'm out of estus for the boss. Even worse with a +1 bonfire...irritates my soul ewwwwww

these *****ing things are annoying as *****. I can't kill them at all because i always die to the lat one and he survives with barely any health
These bastards are stupidly strong for the point of the game they're in, particularly the Man-Catcher wielding ones, they're really fast, have relatively high health, they hit like absolute freight trains while attacking quickly and seemingly being guaranteed to stunlock you regardless of your poise, and perhaps worst of all, they have super armor while they're attacking making it almost impossible to stagger them while they're attacking, they'll poise through Great Hammer R2s that'll normally pancake them without even flinching, forcing you to trade with them if you try to hit them while they're about to attack which is very dangerous seeing as how they hit ridiculously hard compared to most other mid-game enemies and the other enemies in the area, Fight these guys with caution in melee, they can easily kill you very quickly if you aren't
